Organizational Setting

The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by

an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop

policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to

reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural ,

fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and

natural resources in a sustainable manner.

This position is located in D.I.Khan with travel to the

Project area (Diamer, Chitral, South-Wazirstan, and Sherani

districts).

Reporting Lines

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in

Pakistan, the direct supervision of the National Project

Coordinator, in close coordination with Monitoring & Evaluation

(M&E) Specialist at FAO Representation Office Islamabad, the

Monitoring and Evaluation Associate will be responsible for

performing the following duties:

Tasks and responsibilities

Undertake all M&E activities for FAO Chilgoza Project

(socio-economic, environmental, etc.);

Ensure that the M&E framework is aligned with M&E

requirements from The Restoration Initiative and FAO

Develop M&E tools for data collection and proceed to data

collection (baseline and activity monitoring);

Perform missions to monitor and verify the field activities

against the reported achievements. Ensure data quality and suggest

recommendations for improvement of the M&E framework and

collection methodology;

Support the FAO Pakistan Monitoring team in compilation of data

received from the field;

Verify beneficiary database, conduct periodic field visits/spot

checks to obtain beneficiary feedback and prepare monitoring

reports to ensure timely, equitable and transparent delivery of

assistance to beneficiaries;

Propose, support the preparation and lead necessary surveys at

field level

Collect success stories and lessons learnt;

Any other task assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

Master degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management,

Public Administration, Development Studies or Agriculture

Economics;

Minimum 5 years of experience in in the design and

implementation of project and/or program M/E systems

Working knowledge of the English language and Urdu;

National of Pakistan
